Spektrix

For the web developer or Spektrix administrator at a venue that sells through Spektrix: one script URL, in your page header and in the new Seat Picker's setting, and your booking domain registered with us.

1. The script

Every Spektrix venue uses the same script:

https://assets.seatpreevue.com/sdk/v1/seatpreevue-spektrix.js

It works with both of Spektrix's seat-selection screens and detects which one the page uses:

Moving from one to the other later, you keep the same script.

2. Where it goes

Note the current values first, so you can put them back. The same URL, with no parameters, goes in up to two places.

1. Your page header (every venue). Replace the Seat Preevue script your Spektrix website (domain) settings load in the page header today (its file name ends SeatPreevue.js) with the URL above, in the same place. Remove nothing else. On the old seating plan this is all there is.

2. The new Seat Picker (when you switch to it). Set its view-from-seat provider to custom, and the custom script to the same URL:

If you can't see these settings, ask Spektrix Support to set them, with that wording.

With both in place, the script in your header starts as the page loads and hides the Seat Picker's "Check the view from seat" button wherever we have no views for that space or seating plan. The copy the Seat Picker loads on a click then does nothing more. With the Seat Picker's setting alone, the button shows on every seat and a seat without a view says so when clicked.

3. Register your booking domain (no key needed)

Send us the address of a seat-selection page on your live site (and any staging site). We register its domain (for example https://tickets.yourvenue.co.uk), and the script works only there.

Using a key instead: add it to the URL, …/seatpreevue-spektrix.js?key=pk_live_…. A value that isn't a whole publishable key is ignored, and the script works keyless. Check after saving that Spektrix kept the ?key=.

4. What your visitors see

Old seating plan: clicking a seat with a view shows a small "Click here for View From Seat" prompt by the pointer; it opens the 360° view in a window over the seat map. Close it with the button, Escape, or a click outside. Areas with named views (for example benches) get a "View From The …" button on the page.

New Seat Picker: with the header script, the "Check the view from seat" button shows only where we have views for that space and plan (without it, on every seat). It opens our window at once ("Loading the view…"), then the view. The messages are in Errors and messages. Closing returns focus to the seat.

5. Content Security Policy

Spektrix-hosted pages usually have none. If yours does, see CSP (Mode A, with 'unsafe-inline' in style-src).

6. Troubleshooting

What you see Likely cause What to do
"The view from seat service is unavailable" The setting is empty, percent-encoded or not a full https:// URL Check the setting
Old seating plan: no prompt on any seat The old URL is still in place, or your domain isn't registered Check the setting; send us the page address
No view button on a space or plan that should have views With the header script, the button shows only where we serve that space and seating plan Send us the page address
"Seat views aren't available for this space" That space isn't set up with us (expected for a space without views) If it should have views, send us the page and a seat
"No view for this seat yet" everywhere Your venue or area isn't set up with us yet Send us the page and an example seat
"Couldn't load the view" Your domain isn't registered, or a network problem Send us the page address; if registered, try again

In the browser's Network tab, seatpreevue-spektrix.js should load from assets.seatpreevue.com (200), then calls to connect.seatpreevue.com once the seat map loads or a seat is clicked.

7. Rolling back

Put the previous values back in the same settings (the header, and the Seat Picker's if you changed it); it takes effect on the next page load.
